TOLEDO – David Pepper, Democratic Nominee for Ohio Attorney General, has received his third law enforcement endorsement of the 2014 campaign. On Friday, the Toledo Police Command Officers Association announced that it was backing Pepper over incumbent Mike DeWine.
“I’m honored to have the endorsement of Toledo’s police command officers,” Pepper said. “Police officers and other first responders deserve an Attorney General who understands local law enforcement and will be an advocate for the needs of their communities.”
This is Pepper’s third major endorsement by an Ohio law enforcement association during the 2014 campaign and demonstrates the campaign’s continued momentum. In July, Pepper was endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio, the first time the FOP endorsed a challenger to a sitting attorney general in decades. Pepper has also been endorsed by Troopers for a Safer Ohio and the Ohio Association of Professional Firefighters.
