Leadership begins with having a vision and a plan to get it done. David Pepper has laid out a comprehensive plan to make Cincinnati safe once again – and to achieve the other key priorities that will establish Cincinnati as America’s best hometown. The key priorities of the Pepper Plan are:
1. RECLAIMING OUR STREETS FROM CRIME: In 10 years, Cincinnati has gone from being one of the country’s safest cities to one of its most violent. Our top priority must be to reestablish Cincinnati as one of America’s safest cities. We know this goal is attainable based on examples right here in Cincinnati and best practices from around the country. The Pepper Plan lays out a blueprint for a safe Cincinnati.

2. BUILDING A PATH OF OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR KIDS: Cincinnati has always been a City about kids and families, but lately—due to no comprehensive approach to youth—we are letting our children down. It’s time to change that. The Mayor must lead the way to build a path of opportunity for all kids born and raised in Cincinnati, and the Pepper Plan lays out the policy choices and priorities we must set.

5. MAKING CITY GOVERNMENT WORK: To do all that we need to do, and at a competitive tax rate, we must reform and reinvent city government. We must change the way we do business. The goal must be to deliver basic services effectively and efficiently, to improve customer service, to lay out a long-term plan, and to be transparent and accountable in achieving that plan. The Pepper Plan includes a comprehensive road map for making city government work.
